Due to a peaceful protest which was staged by the Students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) about the availability of water and power had reached an all-time low ,the protest which on Wednesday had continued yesterday because they did not get any promise of addressing the situation by the management.
This has however led to the management taking a drastic decision by ordering that all the student should vacate the institution’s Akoka, Yaba campus with immediate effect. Report gathered revealed that some students had protested the incessant power outage in the school and poor power supply and had moved to meet with the management on Thursday, April 7, with a view to finding a lasting solution to the crisis. But rather than proffer a solution to the issues raised by the students, the management of the institution, rising from an emergency meeting on Thursday, ordered the students out of the institution while other activities in the school continues. In a circular passed on Thursday, the students were asked to leave the school on or before 10.00 am on Friday, April 8 until municipal services improve.
