The Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of Osun State, Barr. Adewale Afolabi was arrested by security agents in his hometown, Ikirun, Osun state on the eve of the state’s governorship election.
A family member who spoke with The Scoop said that the commissioner called to inform his family of the arrest while he was being taken away.
The arrest was said to have been effected by operatives from the Department of State Security (DSS) while the attorney-general was at a meeting in Ikirun.
According to the family source, the APC Local Government chairman as well as two others were arrested alongside the Commissioner.
“He was arrested for no reason last night by those SSS men with masks. We are at our hometown in Ikirun to vote, so he was having last minute touches with hos people before they arrested him. They may not release him until after the elections,” the source said.
The current location of the arrested Commissioner and other APC chieftains is unknown.
