The Federal Government , on Thursday commenced a vocational and entrepreneurial programme in order to prepare its staff for retirement in Abuja.
Announcing the two -day workshop for presumptive retirees, The Permanent Secretary, Mr Jalal Arabi said that the training was also planned to prepare them mentally and psychologically for retirement. He said that the State House has set out to start an early Pre-retirement training for potential retirees.
According to him,“it is a belief that proper retirement planning will make life after retirement better” .Still speaking, Arabi said that the federal Goverment desires that all its employees must undergo Pre-retirement training which would be within three to four years before retirement. He added that “this is based on the understanding that it takes about three years to have and develop most business ideas.
However, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 81 presumptive retirees are being trained on different aspects of agricultural field and personal finance planning during the workshop
