It promises to be an explosive round of football tomorrow as Enyimba confront Tunisian giants Etoile du Sahel in a CAF Champions League final round first leg match at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.
The Aba Elephants are the lone Nigerian club left playing continental football this season and carry the weight of expectations of a nation, whose fans are yet to come to terms with the early exit of the national team vine before the qualifying race for Gabon 2017 is yet to end.. At a time when fans expectations are waning and thinning out, Enyimba striker, Abu Azeez has said his club were determined to overcome Etoile du Sahel to reach the lucrative group stage of this year’s competition.
Enyimba go into tomorrow’s game looking for a goal cushion heading into the second leg holding in the weekend of April 19 to 20 in Sousse Speaking on what to expect, striker Azeez said “We have to be in the group stage and therefore we are going to fight for it. This is the Champions League, if you want to go far you must overcome small and big teams. “I would really love to play against Etoile du Sahel. These are the sort of games that as a player you look forward to. “But if I don’t make the team, it won’t matter too much as we have the right players who can beat them anywhere. It is just for us as a team to work together and play with determination. If we are determined, Etoile can’t stop us.”
