#BringBackOurGirls campaign leader, Oby Ezekwesili detained at Airport by SSS

FORMER Minister of Education, Mrs Oby Ezekwesili’s international passport, was on Monday reportedly seized by personnel of the State Security Service (SSS) at the Abuja Airport. While on her way to London for the BBC TV programme, Hardtalk, scheduled to air Tuesday.

The leader of the #BringBackOurGirls group was apparently on her
way to London to discuss the recent activities of the group
concerning the rescue of the nearly 300 girls kidnapped from
Chibok, Borno State, 98 days ago by the Boko Haram sect.

Tweeting from her twitter handle @obyezeks at about 7.33am she
said, “Is this democracy? I am being detained by the SSS at the
Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport .The SSS has refused to give
my passport to me.

“On my way to London this morning for my @BBCHARDtalk
appearance billed for tomorrow and the SSS has detained me by
withholding my passport. No one can seize my democratic rights.
I refuse to let the SSS get away with trampling on my
constitutional right.”
